We hope that everyone had a wonderful May long weekend. The weather leading up to the weekend was just lovely. The farmers were busy getting crops planted and the dust was flying. I do hope we get some rain soon but not before all the gardens are planted. What a delight to wander in the Garden Centres and nurseries. Thanks to all those folks for their hard work that helps us beautify our homes and yards. It is good to see all the fresh vegetables in our local stands. And of course the rhubarb pies and cakes were mighty tasty. That first meal of asparagus was so good.
It would seem that May is the month for anniversaries and birthdays. Happy Anniversary to Joyce and John Farrell, and Teresa and David Becker. My how the years have flown by.
In talking to Beth and Fred Morgan of Eastern Ontario recently they wanted to be remembered to friends and neighbours here.
May is a busy month for birthdays – Happy Birthday or Belated Happy Birthday to Kerry Boyle, Christina Farrell, Joe Fry, Paul Greenwood, Jan Logtenberg, Anne MacInnes, George Miller, Janet Rhody, Peter Roberts, Eily Simpson (who was born on the Queen’s birthday) Don Thompson of Braemar in Wingham, and Debbie Wray. We hope everyone had a great day. Whoever I have missed, sorry – hope you had a great day too.
Folks who know Shirley Gilders of Clinton will be pleased to hear that she is feeling much better after her stay in the hospital.
It is interesting how humans adapt – we know of folks visiting in their cars through open windows – keeping socially distanced; others drive around and visit through car windows with friends out working in their yards. Aren’t the lawns looking great? and what a treat to see the new homes being occupied on the east side of the 15th.Ripley is growing.
